This policy explains how BananaTab handles information when you use its tab-management and money-alert services.
We may handle account details you provide, phone numbers, text-message content and delivery records, tab and receipt information, product preferences, device and service logs, and support communications. If you connect a financial institution through Plaid, we receive the accounts and transaction data you authorize. BananaTab does not receive your bank login credentials.
We use information to provide, secure, troubleshoot, and improve BananaTab; connect accounts; reconcile transaction updates; apply the alert rules you choose; send requested tab messages and consented money alerts; prevent abuse; and meet legal obligations.
We disclose information to vendors that operate BananaTab, including infrastructure, database, analytics, messaging, and financial-data connectivity providers. Plaid handles information under its own privacy policy when you use Plaid Link. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect people or the service, or as part of a corporate transaction.
Mobile information and text-message opt-in data are used to provide BananaTab messaging. We do not sell this information or share it with third parties for their own marketing. Messaging providers receive the information needed to deliver messages.
You can pause money alerts in conversation and reply STOP to opt out of messages. You can ask to disconnect a linked account or request access, correction, or deletion, subject to legal and security retention requirements. Reply HELP in the BananaTab conversation for support.
We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including restricted service access and encryption of Plaid access tokens. No system is perfectly secure. We retain information only as long as reasonably needed for the uses above, security, dispute resolution, and legal obligations.
We may update this policy and will post the updated effective date here. Material changes will be communicated when required.
Session recording. To improve the product we may record how the website and the onboarding are used, including clicks, page views, and what is shown on screen, using PostHog. Anything you type into phone, email, password, or card fields is masked and never recorded. Recordings are kept only as long as needed for product improvement and are visible only to the BananaTab team.
